Why Use Databases?

  • Find scholarly resources that have already been evaluated for credibility, accuracy, reliability, and authority.
  • Databases provide current information from a stable location; no broken links or "page not found" errors.
  • Information is well-organized by subject, publication, material type, time period/date, etc.
  • The purpose of the information is to inform, not persuade.
